Our story began with industry veterans Mike Liddell and Dan Hahn, who brought deep expertise in APS software implementation and manufacturing planning tools. Together, they launched Lean Scheduling International (LSI) to sell, customize, and implement Preactor APS—empowering North American manufacturers to streamline operations, reduce downtime, and improve planning accuracy.
LSI quickly rose to become the #1 Preactor partner in the U.S., thanks to a relentless focus on customer success and practical implementation. Even as the software evolved—eventually becoming Siemens Opcenter APS following its acquisition in 2015—our leadership and results-driven approach remained unmatched.
Deep Experience in ERP Scheduling Integration & APS Strategy
In 2018, LSI expanded its vision by partnering with Gary Schaum, a trusted APS professional with over two decades of experience in manufacturing systems, planning and scheduling, and ERP scheduling integration. Gary began his APS journey in the early 2000s and quickly became known for leading successful implementations in complex, high-variation production environments. His ability to align business processes with technical solutions made him a go-to resource for manufacturers across North America.
Before co-founding Scheduling Solutions, Gary held key roles at multiple manufacturing technology firms, including leadership positions where he guided ERP-APS integration projects and drove digital transformation efforts on the plant floor. His deep experience with both Opcenter APS and PlanetTogether positioned him as a strategic force in helping companies evolve their planning maturity and achieve measurable results.
Together, Gary, Mike, and Dan founded Scheduling Solutions to focus on the future of APS—championing the modern, flexible, and scalable capabilities of PlanetTogether.
By 2020, that vision became reality. Following ATS Global’s acquisition of LSI and its Opcenter practice, the founders transitioned fully to PlanetTogether, offering clients a streamlined, next-generation APS platform tailored to today’s dynamic manufacturing challenges.
