You may have already seen the news: PlanetTogether was acquired by CAI Software, announced on June 24th. This kind of acquisition can bring real benefits over time, but transitions like this also tend to come with some uncertainty in the near term — and possibly beyond — as support contacts, processes, and priorities settle into place.
With that in mind, I wanted to make sure you knew about a resource we’ve built: the Advanced Planning and Scheduling Roundtable, a community forum for manufacturing planners and schedulers. We’re starting with a focus on PlanetTogether, with plans to expand into other APS solutions like OpCenter and ScheduleIQ over time.
The idea is simple — a space where practitioners can share real-world lessons learned, trade ideas, and help each other work through scheduling challenges: planning horizons, material and labor constraints, routings, the 80/20 rule, and more. The forum is monitored by people with decades of hands-on planning and scheduling experience, so the conversation is grounded in real practitioner knowledge.
To be clear, this is a peer community, not a support channel. It doesn’t replace your existing support contacts, and for anything urgent or account-specific, please continue reaching out through your normal support channel.
A couple of other notes:
- We’re currently in beta, so if you run into any issues with the site itself, please reach out and let me know directly.
- Since you’re getting early access, I’d really appreciate it if you posted something once you’re in — even a quick introduction helps get things moving.
